Here’s a lightning behind-the-scenes tour of Queen + Adam Lambert in rehearsals. I took my selfie stick, but also a small camera team, to capture some atmosphere as we prepare for the next part of our continuing live work with the amazing Adam Lambert on vocals.
It’s also an advert for my new Video Channel - which features a section specially devoted to this kind of ‘live camera’ stuff, plus sections to communicate Stereoscopy, Astronomy, Music, and my efforts to achieve justice for animals.

I figured I might do a better job of capturing faces tonight if I forgot about me being in it ! This one was done using the Panoramic feature of a iPhone.
Yep ! I know there's room for improvement in technique - but I think the definition on faces is better - as long as the file is preserved full size so you can zoom all the way in. It reminds me of School Photograph Day long ago !
And what a truly amazing crowd of people - Glasgow rocked mightily. And we were much happier with the internal shape of the set tonight - having made some adjustments after the show last night. I think it works !

We had a brilliant first night in Newcastle ! To a fabulous sold-out crowd of folks from the North-Eastern states !
Bless ya all !! I promised to tweet every one of you lovely people who gave us such energy tonight. Well, I think this is the best way … because we can do it higher quality here.
This is a ‘set’ — all the way round the arena … so … if you were there tonight, and if you’re reading this - I hope you can see yourself !!
They’re not all super-sharp, I’m afraid, but I think they capture the moment !
For comparison, here’s me practising with this (new) stick in the afternoon sound-check.

This is the very first music video to appear on the new official Brian May Youtube Channel. It’s a live track from a concert by the Brian May Band, recorded at the Brixton Academy, London, on 15th June 1993.
At the moment when we’re putting this up on this new channel, this video brings back powerful memories. Touring as a front man, following Freddie’s passing, I was in complete denial of Queen, and regarded my new band as my future. I was blessed with the massive support of the late great Cozy Powell on drums. Here we see Cozy in fabulous form. Of course, when Ritchie Blackmore’s band, Rainbow, recorded the monumental version of this song that charted in 1979, Cozy had been the drummer, and for me, covering this track live was a kind of homage to Cozy. The vocal is almost impossibly rangey, and I made it a personal crusade to work on my voice, extending my range so I could sing it. The band was a dream outfit for me … with already legendary heavy rock stalwart Neil Murray on bass, who had worked with Cozy (and my friend Tony Iommi) in one of the incarnations of Black Sabbath, long-time Queen collaborator Spike Edney on keys, newly recruited Jamie Moses on guitar, who remains a great friend to this day, and two stunning backing vocalists, Catherine Porter and Shelley Preston. It actually gives me a chill up the spine to see this outfit in full flight, as clear and bright as if ‘twere yesterday.

This is a very rough sketch, summarising in a few words:
1) the current powerlessness of the vast majority of British people, and the desperate state of Parliament, making a Common Decency initiative essential.
2) what a reformed, corruption-free parliament might look like.
3) how we might begin to bring this radical reform about, and reclaim our democracy. It embodies a recognition of the fact that, though we don't claim to be perfect, we have the will to bring about a new kind of government, motivated by truth, fairness, openness, and compassion.
