The Pleiades

|

“Many a night I saw the Pleiads, rising through the mystic haze, glitter like a swarm of fireflies, tangled in a silver braid”.
(Hesiod ?)

I took this picture last night – or really I should say my Vespera telescope took it ! About 3 hours exposure on a nice (rare) clear sparkly night. Gotta love this “Little Dipper”, as some people call this wonderful compact star cluster in the constellation of Taurus the Bull. And we now know it’s a hotbed of stars being born out of the clouds of gas and dust that they’re nested in. You can just see some of that ‘nebulosity’ in this capture – which I’m definitely enjoying.

Thank you Vespera 2 ! @vaonis . Take care out there folks and keep looking up !!
