Happened upon this – in my treasured box of the 7 inch singles I collected as a teenage kid, paid for with the pocket money I saved up. It has a sticker on it – number “1” – see ? I was annoyingly meticulous even then ! This means this was the first record I ever bought – in the fabulous Waldren’s Record Shop in Hounslow. Johnny Duncan and Lonnie Donegan were my heroes – inspiring me to pick up the guitar and try to play it. I’m forever grateful ! —- and —- notice the record label it’s released on. (these days someone would say they ‘dropped’ it — ha ha !! — but I never dropped this piece of plastic – it’s in mint condition like the day it was born ! In 1957. I was 10.
