In 1947 – Brian May born in Gloucester House Nursing Home, Hampton, UK – only child of Ruth and Harold May.
In 1954 – Brian May received for his 7th birthday a Spanish acoustic guitar – his first ever guitar.
In 1969 – Smile played PJ’s Club, Truro, UK.
In 1971 – Queen played the Rugby Club, Hayle, UK.
In 1978 – Brian May celebrated his birthday in Montreux, Switzerland, according to Fan Club Magazine – Freddie Mercury wrote Bicycle Race on this date, after seeing the 1978 Tour De France.
In 1982 – Queen released ‘Calling All Girls’ – their first A-side release composed by Roger Taylor, bw ‘Put Out The Fire’ (USA).
In 1982 – From 19-20 July Queen were rehearsing in Montreal.
In 1986 – Queen played Müngersdorfer Stadion, Cologne, Germany.
In 1986 – Brian May guest appearance with Marillion at the Müngersdorfer Stadion, Cologne, Germany.
In 1993 – Freddie Mercury’s “Living On My Own – The Re-mixes” released and reached No.1.
In 1993 – Freddie received in memoriam Ivor Novello award for ‘Living On My Own’.
In 1996 – Brian appeared on BBC’s Top Of The Pops with the Rock Therapy group on his 49th birthday, with ‘Reaching Out’, BBC Television Centre.
In 1997 – Brian May + Roger Taylor appeared at Brian’s private 50th Birthday Party with the SAS Band, Surrey, UK – played All Right Now (Brian guitar & vocals), All The Young Dudes (Brian guitar, voc, Roger bvs), Tie Your Mother Down (Brian guitar & voc), Rock And Roll (Brian guitar, Roger voc) and Route 66 (Brian guitar, voc, Roger drums).
In 2003 – Celebrated 56th birthday at Jamie Oliver’s restaurant. Anita, Brian and Emily
In 2006 – Spent birthday attending auditions in the Dominion for upcoming cast change in October for WWRY.
In 2007 – Brian May attended the Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral to receive a Fellowship of Liverpool John Moores University.
In 2009 – Brian May and Sir Patrick Moore contributed ‘Moon Bounce Messages’ for an event 19th July, Jodrell Bank, Cheshire, celebrating 40th anniversary of moon landings. Select members of the public had the chance also to bounce their audio messages off the moon – with the Lovell telescope receiving the message from the moon and playing it out to the audience. The messages – what they would have said in Neil Armstrong’s place.
In 2011 – Spent birthday with Anita on Isle of Wight – with no internet.
In 2012 – On 65th birthday, VHI Classic Rock Radio reported: BRIAN MAY ISN’T RETIRING ANY TIME SOON
“I don’t know what retirement would be for me. I love what I do and I know that I’m very fortunate. I’m one of the few people I know who loves their job as much as I do. I don’t know what retirement would be. I couldn’t really stop thinking about it and feeling it and doing something. I guess I could see the time when I wouldn’t be physically strong enough to but as long as long as I have fingers that move at all I’ll be playing the guitar.”
In 2013 – Brian May and Kerry Ellis played Auditorium Stravinski, as part of Montreux Jazz Festival, Montreux, Switzerland, Brian celebrating 66th birthday.
In 2013 – The longer director’s cut of Rhys Thomas’s documentary “Freddie Mercury : The Great Pretender” and “Hungarian Rhapsody – Queen Live In Budapest” is shown on BBC Channel 4, UK.
In 2014 – Queen + Adam Lambert played the Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, Connecticut, USA, where he celebrated his 67th birthday. The entire audience sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Brian and Anita Dobson surprised him backstage with a huge birthday cake.
In 2015 – Brian May celebrated his 68th birthday at the legendary Rainbow Bar, Los Angeles with his rock star pals Eric Singer, Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan, Gilby Clarke and Nuno Bettencourt.
In 2019 – Queen + Adam Lambrt played The Forum, Los Angeles.
