On This Day in Queen History – 22 December

In 1973 – Queen played Town Hall, Peterborough, UK, support to Mott The Hoople.
In 1977 – Queen played the Forum, Inglewood, California, USA.
In 1979 – Queen filmed ‘Save Me’ promo video: first video combining animation with live performance – at Alexandra Palace, London, UK, where they also played a show later that evening.

In 1981 – Queen had returned to Musicland Studios, Munich, Germany (6 – 22 Dec) continuing recording “Hot Space” album.

In 1992 – The Cross + Brian May played”, The Marquee Club, London, UK at Queen (Fan Club Xmas party including a Smile Reunion playing “Earth” and “If I Were A Carpenter”). This was second of two part dates, as 21st with Roger Daltrey had sold out fast.

In 2012 – Brian May attended a performance of “The Merry Wives of Windsor” in Stratford-upon-Avon. Anita Dobson playing the role of Mistress Quickley.
