On This Day in Queen History – 8 January

In 1966 – The Reaction played the Princess Pavilion, Falmouth, UK. 
In 1971 – Queen played The Marquee Club, London, UK In 1982 – Freddie Mercury made a guest appearance with Peter Straker’s Taxi, Hog’s Grunt Pub, Cricklewood, UK – sang Jailhouse Rock.

In 2004 – Brian May cut the ribbon and declared the new premises of House Of Guitars, Brune Street, London, UK open and addressed the over 200 appreciative fans and guitarists present from a small stage. He played “Amazing Grace” (slow version,which evolved into “Hammer to Fall” style, “Brighton Rock” extract (the clapping section) and “Chinese Torture”.

In 2013 – Spike Edney lands in Philadelphia to direct rehearsals as a musical director of the “Queen Extravaganza”.
In 2013: Brian May appeared on the BBC One Northwest tonight programme, as part of this report from Jodrell Bank followed later as a guest that evening on “Stargazing Live”. WATCH FULL TV COVERAGE HERE  featuring Brian.

In 2016 – “The Art” newspaper reported Brian May and Denis Pellerin to publish the Victorian 3D book “Crinoline: Fashion’s Most Magnificent Disaster” on 16 April to coincide with the launch of the Victoria and Albert Museum exhibition, “Undressed: A Brief History of Underwear”. MORE HERE
