Tomorrow is the launch of the exhibition “SPIKE EDNEY: From Landport to Live Aid” at Portsmouth Guildhall, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO1 2AB.
For those of you who will be coming to The SAS Band gig at the Guildhall on 8th Dec, you will be able to view the exhibit before the show in the Portsmouth Music Experience Galleries located on the first floor. The entrance to the galleries is next to the Freda Swain bar, so grab yourself a drink and have a wander…
The Guildhall’s Portsmouth Music Experience Galleries were created to showcase musicians, who have come from the Portsmouth area. Since the late 50s, Portsmouth has always been a hotbed of live music with great venues and fantastic bands. Spike was asked if he would exhibit some of his personal collection, as he’s being inducted onto the Guildhall’s “Wall of Fame” on the day of the gig. In addition to Spike’s temporary exhibition, they also have a great permanent exhibit, featuring rock photographers and bands from the area, from the 60s to present day.
We hope you enjoy the exhibition and Spike’s story.
Cheers,
The SAS Band Office
