Seaside Rendezvous deckchairs

We are delighted to announce the release of two deluxe limited edition deckchairs featuring stunning re-imagined 'Innuendo' album artwork based on illustrations from Grandville’s book 'Un Autre Monde' released in 1844.

Perfect for the beach or garden, each deckchair features a digitally printed canvas and is individually finished with an etched Queen Archive Edition brushed stainless steel plaque.

Pre-order now at www.queenonlinestore.com/Queen/Queen-Archive-Edition/

Southsea Deckchairs have been making the world’s finest deckchairs to the highest possible standards in Portsmouth since 1991. Being the same traditional chairs you see on promenades, beaches and The Royal Parks around the UK they are designed to withstand the elements and heavy use.

The heavy duty timber frames have great strength and are solidly made using sustainably sourced and durable Merpauh hardwood moulding with PEFC accreditation meaning they are durable to withstand between 15-25 years contact with the ground. The timber is finished with teak oil which provides excellent protection against the elements and wear, extends the working life, and the fine finish enhances the natural appearance.

The fabric is made from thick 500g polyester "artist’s canvas" which feels nice to the touch and has a natural spring making it incredibly comfortable.

The Queen Archive Edition range is inspired by hidden treasures taken from the extensive Queen archives which includes rare, some previously unseen and occasionally original collectable memorabilia.

Make this a summer to remember and head over to the Queen Online Store for pre-order details and view a gallery showing every step of the manufacturing process. Go to www.queenonlinestore.com/Queen/Queen-Archive-Edition/

Note: Due to the weight and dimensions the deckchairs can only be shipped by courier delivery to UK addresses only.

PRESS RELEASE: DON'T STOP THEM NOW - QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT
ANNOUNCE CONCERT DATE IN CHILE
Direct link

Adam + Brian

This September 30, in the Athletic Track of the National Stadium, one of the most important bands in world music history, Queen, fronted by legend-in-the-making Adam Lambert, will return to our country after selling out ticket in shows across the world. Chile will be no exception and Chilean Queen fans will surely enjoy a show not to be missed.

This will be Queen's second time in Chile. The band made a memorable show in our country in 2008 featuring Paul Rodgers in San Carlos de Apoquindo Stadium. This time, Queen + Adam Lambert will perform for Chilean fans in the Athletic Track of the National Stadium.

The sale of tickets for this unique show of Queen in Chile, will be announced soon.

Before appearing in Chile, Queen + Adam Lambert will be headlining the opening night, September 18, of Rock in Rio, which will celebrate Queen back at the City of Rock 30 years after appearing at the inaugural event, January 11, 1985. Such is the excitement of fans in South America that the tickets for this event sold out in less than three hours after going on sale.

The success of the combination of Queen + Adam Lambert is confirmed after 67 completely sold out arena shows across North America, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, and with three shows scheduled in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Porto Alegre) the iconic band Queen + Adam Lambert return to Chile, as part of their "Don’t Stop Them Now - Queen + Adam Lambert " tour of South America.

Queen’s drummer Roger Taylor said: "How great to be coming back to South America to rock you even harder than before.”

And singer Adam Lambert added: "I'm so excited to be joining Queen for these dates! This will be a triumphant return for them, and my FIRST time in South America!"

Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert first shared the stage during American Idol in May 2009 for a performance of “We Are The Champions”. They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland for an electrifying eight-minute finale of “The Show Must Go On”, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions” and in the summer of 2012, Lambert performed a series of shows with Queen across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. They also performed three sold-out shows at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.

Teaming again in September 2013, Queen + Adam Lambert received glowing reviews for their performance together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, triggering a conversation between Adam, Roger and Brian to take the show on the road. Rolling Stone said, “Lambert astounded the audience on songs like ‘We Will Rock You’ and the closing ‘We Are The Champions’ and ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’. It was the most anticipated act of the night.” Billboard claimed, “…Queen effectively stole the show, with timeless songs that music fans of all genres can sing along to” and the Hollywood Reporter exclaimed, “Adam Lambert, Queen bring down the iHeart house. With the perfect mix of rock attitude mixed with style, theatricality, sex appeal and impressive vocal gymnastics, [Lambert] took the band’s music to new heights.”

"Let's ROCK those beautiful arenas JUST ONE MORE TIME!” said Brian May when just months later, in March 2014, Queen + Adam announced a North American tour for the summer of 2014. After announcing an initial 19 dates, five more were hastily added. Not only did all 24 dates sell out almost overnight but by the end of summer touring period Queen + Adam Lambert were awarded Band of the Year at the 10th annual Classic Rock Roll of Honour awards as voted by readers of the magazine. Brian May and Adam Lambert were on hand to collect the award in Los Angeles on 4 November, 2014. More recently, Queen + Adam Lambert were voted Best Live Band of the Year in Ultimate Classic Rock’s year round up reader’s poll.

Queen + Adam Lambert topped off 2014 by performing to an audience of over 12 million TV viewers when they were especially selected to perform live for UK BBC Television’s New Year’s Eve spectacular Queen + Adam Lambert Rock Big Ben. In the subsequent 24 hours ‘Adam Lambert’ was the top of the trending searches on Google in the UK with more than 500,000 searches for his name. Queen’s latest album Forever leapt back up the charts and the band’s Greatest Hits album returned to the Top 40 album chart.

Entering the New Year, Q + AL kicked of 2015 in almighty fashion with 26 sold-out concerts in 10 countries throughout the UK and Europe taking their critically acclaimed show to France, Austria, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Poland bringing their world tour which began in the US in June 2014 almost to a complete circle.

Now Queen + Adam Lambert head for South America with the band’s biggest show yet.

“I'm completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon,” says Lambert. “Sharing the stage with Brian and Roger for a full set is so beautifully surreal. I'm honored to be able to pay my respects to Freddie's memory; he's a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. I know these dates will be another huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger and the rest of the band, I feel like magic will be on display.”

Queen

Queen has amassed a staggering list of sales, awards, and hall of fame inductions that is second to none. Record sales in the hundreds of millions of units, including an unprecedented string of number one albums and top-charting singles, continue to put Queen in the top ten of all-time iTunes sales. Last year Queen were officially recognized as the first artist ever to sell over six million copies of an album in the UK with their Greatest Hits collection originally released in 1981, beating even the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper by close on a million copies, pointing to the astonishing fact that at least one in three households in the UK now own a copy of the band’s original Greatest Hits collection. Originally released in October 1981, the Greatest Hits album also achieved the record of spending over 1,422 weeks on the British album chart.

With their sterling song craft, virtuoso musicality, and colossal spectacle of their live performances, Queen – Brian May, Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor and John Deacon - captured hearts and conquered charts like no other band in history, a legacy that continues to live through the ongoing work and concert performances by May and Taylor, now joined by Adam Lambert.

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert’s stunning performances on the eighth season of American Idol are still widely regarded as some of the most riveting moments in the show’s history. His debut album For Your Entertainment earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. His second album, Trespassing, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The subsequent tour took Lambert from Australia to South Africa, throughout Asia and Eastern Europe and culminated in a sold-out arena show in Helsinki, Finland. In 2013, Adam appeared as a guest star on the hit TV series, GLEE. Adam has just completed a brand new album, writing and working with the production team of Shellback and Max Martin (Max is responsible for 19 #1 US hits, and Billboard’s “Producer of the Year”). The first single, “Ghost Town” is released April 20, and the album “The Original High” follows this summer.

Brian came up through the trap wearing his Jubilee suit, during Bohemian Rhapsody and played the solo... he went off but shortly re-joined the cast for the end of the show, accompanying Mig in an encore of We Are The Champions - and for the curtain calls.

Microphone in hand, he gave a short speech to mark the occasion. He said that if Ben Elton were there then the speech would be longer. He introduced Roger to the stage and then gave his thanks to the departing members. Roger presented Nigel Planer wiith a botle of whiskey [Seven Seas of Rhye], and Cameron Jack and Luke Baxter, each with a bottle of champagne, and presented a cardboard box(!) to both Kerry and Sharon.... containing flowers. Each got hugs or a handshake... and there were a few tears.

As for the performance - all the cast without exception rose to the occasion and gave their very very best... comic timing, humour, fantastic vocals, and Kerry again had a long, standing ovation for No One But You. Nigel was impeccable and funny... reponding to "Hello Pop" from the audience. Sharon's vocals as magnificent as ever, and "Tonight`'... she clearly had herself "a good time".

Farewell Kerry, Sharon, Nigel, Cameron... and thanks for giving us so many magical times. Good luck in all you do. We will miss you.

And.... Happy 2nd Anniversary, We Will Rock You.
