According to reports including VARIETY.com - Fox has brought forward the Queen biopic movie.

Fox moves up 'Bohemian Rhapsody'

Fox has shuffled its release schedule, moving forward the Freddie Mercury biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” while pushing back its “X-Men” spin-offs “The New Mutants” and “Dark Phoenix.”

In an announcement late Monday night, the studio said it had set Nov. 2 as the new launch date for “Bohemian Rhapsody,” which had been set for Dec. 25. Dexter Fletcher came on board to direct in December after Fox fired Bryan Singer from the project.

“Mr. Robot” star Rami Malek is in the lead role as Freddie Mercury, the frontman for Queen. New Regency and GK Films are the production companies. Mercury wrote numerous hits for Queen, including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Killer Queen,” “Somebody to Love,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” and “We Are the Champions.”

Freddie Mercury biopic gets earlier release date delaying X-Men movies

Fox bosses have brought forward the release of their troubled Freddie Mercury biopic, which pushes back the next two X-Men movies.

The film, titled Bohemian Rhapsody, charts the life of the late Queen frontman and has the blessing of the surviving members of the band, but has spent years in development hell before shooting finally got underway in September (17). The project again looked to be in jeopardy after the firing of director Bryan Singer, days before he was named in a sexual assault lawsuit.

British filmmaker Dexter Fletcher took over from Singer, and Fox executives are confident enough in Fletcher's work to have brought its release date forward from Christmas Day to November.

Bohemian Rhapsody's co-writer Anthony McCarten told WENN that Fletcher had rescued the movie, and tipped Mr. Robot star Rami Malek, who plays Freddie, as a potential awards contender.

"Dexter brought his professionalism and he's a very gifted director and it's a very hard situation to walk into for anyone when someone's half-prepared the meal and you've got to finish it off," he said. "It's wrapped, it's in the can and you heard it here first, it's going to be extraordinary. The movie, the music, the central performance by Rami Malek. He'd better have a tuxedo, because the stuff I've seen is stand out."

The Freddie biopic will now be released on 2 November, the date originally earmarked for comic book movie X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which stars Sophie Turner as the titular hero.

A very special night dedicated to Freddie Mercury in Rome at Stazione Birra: The most important live venue in Rome!

Mercury Requeen

His music will live again with REQUEEN Tribute Band's live concert, on those days the more requested tribute band in central Italy, which will propose a set list of songs that will travel all of Queen's career. His life was celebrated with the incredible meeting, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ROME, with PETER FREESTONE: Freddie's historic personal assistant.

Peter met Freddie Mercury for the first time in 1979 at the Royal Opera House of London, where he was responsible for the Royal Ballet's wardrobe. Between the two immediately formed a strong friendship that led Peter to become Freddie's personal assistant from the following year, a role in which he is went on daily until the death of the Queen singer arrived in 1991. Peter is author of one of the most famous and appreciated biographies of Freddie Mercury and resides currently in the Czech Republic, a real base in which he lives among the continuous trips in which he is engaged in conferences and events for AIDS awareness.

Peter regularly takes part in the memorials on Freddie Mercury and the fan convention of Queen's fans, with whom he obviously has a very special relationship.

An opportunity that no Queen fans must therefore lose!

The event is sponsored by "We Will Rock You" (the only official fan club in Italy recognized from Queen and their label Universal Music) and also by "Comunità Quenniana italian": italian online portal with news and virtual community.
