Visited this exquisite exhibition today.
It’s in the Courtauld Drawings Gallery at Somerset House.
Wonderful pre-photographic (just), and pre Pre-Raphaelite watercolours. It’s a tiny exhibition – of an artist better known for his still lifes but in this dedicated new collection he’s immortalising some common people of the 1820s and 30s and their working lives.
Have you heard of William Henry Hunt ? Neither had I ! But now I understand a little better the world that my hero TR Williams grew up in.
Go in your lunch hour !! I am Groot ! Oh – sorry, I already told you it was fabulous !
This watercolour is from the 1820s, painted by William Henry Hunt.
