Amazing Place !!! After all these years I finally visited the Royal Holloway College – probably the greatest Victorian flight of architectural fancy in the world ! Impossible to capture in a photograph. But here we are – to see a fabulous collection of Victorian paintings – that relate directly to some of the great stereoscopic images.

Showing about 1/1,000th part of the stupendous building that is the Royal Holloway College – founded for women in 1885. Built by a philanthropist who made his fortune selling potions and unguents which he claimed cured all kinds of diseases. Thomas Holloway. Some legacy !

One of the priceless treasures in the Royal Holloway collection – The Princes in the Tower – painted by John Everett Millais in 1878. Fabulous and precious !

Immortalised in stone – Mr and Mrs Thomas Holloway – at Royal Holloway College, Egham. Inspiring – reminds me that one should always think BIG ! We never pass this way again.

I hope this isn’t too public an acknowledgment, but it’s the only way I could think of to say thanks, James. I hope you get to see this. How kind your words are, but also how incredibly considerate are you to make the judgment that, eating alone tonight, I needed to be private. I salute you, and please come and shake a hand next time !
