In 1974 – Queen voted 3rd best new band by the readers of a music magazine.
In 1975 – Queen received Gold award Sheer Heart Attack UK sales – Queen were on holiday Tenerife.
In 1976 – Queen received Platinum awards ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘A Night At The Opera’ UK sales.
In 1981 – Queen received Silver award ‘Flash’ UK single.
In 1990 – Brian May contributed guitar to ‘Sailing’ for Rock Against Repatriation charity single.

In 1992 – Queen received 11x Platinum award for ‘Greatest Hit’s UK.
In 1996 – Queen received 3x Platinum award ‘Made In Heaven’ UK.

In 2001 – Premiere on BBC Choice of “Fun At The Funeral Parlour”, ft theme music by Brian May.

In 2007 – Queen beat The Beatles to be crowned ‘Greatest British Band Of All Time’ by BBC Radio 2 listeners in the UK. Queen pipped the Fab Four in a live contest, trouncing other finalists The Rolling Stones, Oasis and Take That. The bands were judged on song-writing, lyrics, live performances, originality and showmanship. More than 20,000 listeners voted by email, text and phone.
In 2010 – Jim Hutton, Freddie Mercury’s partner, sadly died due to a smoking-related illness, just 3 days before his 61st birthday, at his home in ireland. RIP Jim.

In 2011 – Began Queen’s 40th Anniversary year.
In 2011 – An exclusive and long-term contract between Queen and Universal Music Group came into force. The new agreement applied to all territories outside N America. From January 1, 2011, the music of Queen would be released on Island Records.
In 2011 – Reissue Greatest Hits and Greatest Hits II (40th Anniversary Series) – slightly updated artwork – and were the first “Radio 2 Album Of The Week” 2011 on BBC, UK.
In 2011 – UMG /Island published Queen’s entire back catalogue as digital download with one from the legendary sound engineer Bob Ludwig (U2, Coldplay, Radiohead) for 2011 new mastered sound. In 2012 – ‘We Will Rock You’ played for traditional New Year’s Eve fireworks, London.
In 2013 – In Belgian Radio 2 end of year Top 1,000 list, Bohemian Rhapsody again took No 1 spot.
In 2014 – ‘Another One Bites The Dust’ played at New Year’s Eve Fireworks, London.
