Queen stars Brian May and Roger Taylor will join the cast of We Will Rock You on stage for the musical’s final performance at the end of the month The pair will perform “one last incredible finale” as the production closes on May 31 after a record-breaking 12 years at the Dominion Theatre.

A source said: “Brian and Roger wanted to sign off in style. Brian will play guitar and Roger will get behind the drums for the closing song, which will be one last incredible finale of Bohemian Rhapsody.” The show, penned by Queen and Ben Elton, has been seen by 6.5 million people in the West End.

May said: “We want to thank every one of the hundreds of incredible musical theatre artists, musicians and crew with whom we’ve had the privilege of working. And of course the incredible audiences who have rewarded them with over four and a half thousand standing ovations.”

General Manager of the Dominion Theatre, David Pearson, said: “It has been a privilege to have hosted We Will Rock You for the past 12 years. To have the show rocking the Dominion and seeing a standing ovation night after night has been quite amazing.”
