CASTING STAR MAKES FREDDIE
Yesterday, Queen thrilled the sold out Hallenstadium Zurich. They have had a difficult position: Guest frontman, Adam Lambert had to convince the fans, that he’s worthy as Queen singer.
Nearly 29 years after the last concert at the Hallenstadium Zurich in their original setting, Brian May (67) and Roger Taylor (65) from QUEEN came back to Zurich for a concert. In the team: the new guest singer Adam Lambert (33). That just a participant of the American version of “Germany Seeks the Superstar”, “American Idol” should be a replacement for the legendary Freddie Mercury (+45) made many people perplex. But after the concert was clear: Adam Lambert is the perfect choice!
Adam Lambert has convinced true fans too
The runner-up of the casting show especially impressed with his unique voice and his extroverted, theatrically manner. Both have found each other obviously, because the harmony between Queen and Adam Lambert couldn’t be better. And he knew how to deal with the audience too: “Zurich! You are an attractive audience!” The womens too!” joked the homosexual singer during the concert. Before, from 2005 – 2008, Queen was on the road with Paul Rodgers (65) as their frontman.
However Freddie Mercury remains unforgotten
Again and again, with recordings and song dedications was thought to the deceased frontman of Queen, Freddie Mercury. He was involved in appearances by video recordings – as example in Bohemian Rhapsody too. The Zurich audience paid tribute to Mercury with much applause and jubilation. Brian May was visibly moved.
Standing Ovations for the Rock legends
The entire concert, which lasted two and a half hours, Brian May, Roger Taylor and Adam Lampert have played their greatest hits, from “One Vision” to “We Will Rock You”. At the end there was only one thought: Queen is music history! So it was no miracle, that the band was honored with standing Oovations in the Hallenstadium at the end of the concert.
