Queen + Adam Lambert bass player Neil Fairclough will be holding a special ‘rhythm section’ masterclass at the London Bass Guitar Show 2016 in March. This will be staged with a drummer and will be a lesson on how bass and drums work together in a band setting.

Said Neil recently: “It feels very special to be in this position. It’s very exciting to play this music in an iconic band with iconic musicians, playing iconic songs with John Deacon’s bass parts. There’s the functionality part of the bass that John performed great, and then there’s the lovely parts he created without stepping on anyone’s toes. John wasn’t that precious about recreating everything he played on record, but I try to play at least 90 percent of what John would have done. I’m there to fulfil the job of the bass and for me, part of the composition is what everyone brought to it. Just as you hear Roger hit the backbeat with the snare and open hi-hat, and Brian with the coin scrapes, we’ve obviously not got Freddie and what he brought to it. They were incredible, and they still are!”

The London Bass Guitar Show is the biggest show in the UK all about the bass guitar. Visitors can observe first-hand the latest gear, watch the world’s top players and attend masterclasses and clinics.
