To celebrate Freddie Mercury’s 70th birthday CLASSIC ROCK are giving away a signed print of a stereoscopic photo taken by Queen guitarist Brian May.
Brian May and the London Stereoscopic Company have joined forces to offer Classic Rock readers a unique prize: a 3D print of Freddie Mercury signed by Brian May, and a 3D viewer with which to enjoy the stereo image.
Brian took the picture himself using a stereoscopic camera. Using a technique first popular in Victorian times, whereby two slightly offset two-dimensional images are combined to give the perception of three-dimensional depth, stereoscopic images can be enjoyed using the Owl viewer, a device designed by Brian. One winner will receive the signed print and an OWL viewer.
Queen Stereo cards and Owl viewers can be ordered online from the London Stereoscopic Company. A book of stereo Queen photos, which features 200 unseen 3D pictures and a lenticular cover, will be released next year.
