Queen + Adam Lambert today added a third London show to their upcoming UK and Europe tour dates.
The band’s extra London show will see the band return for a second show at London’s O2 on Wednesday July 4.
This hastily added date comes after the band’s previously announced O2 and Wembley SSE Arena shows sold out within minutes of being put on sale last Friday morning.
Tickets will go on sale immediately, available from 10am this morning, Monday February 12.
Tour promoters have confirmed this added show will be the final chance for fans to see the band in London during their summer tour – which will also see the band perform in a dozen cities across Europe.
So far, these three London shows are the only UK dates planned.
Other countries the band will visit include Spain, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark and Belgium.
Announcing the dates last week, Brian May said: “The almost unanimous reaction to our last round of dates in Europe was this is absolutely the best production we’ve ever mounted. There has been a great demand for us to go back and cover the cities we missed! So, while we’re still physically able to perform at those high energy levels on this massive scale, we thought … ‘YES !! One more around the block!’ It’s live, it’s dangerous, and it takes every ounce of fitness we can muster. But it’s still fun ! “
Today ,speaking for the band, May said: “We’re overwhelmed by the rapid sell-out of our London shows, and we’re now very happy to announce we’re adding this one more night at the O2.”
Singer Adam Lambert says: “I enjoyed every second of the recent European tour and really felt the love in every city. I can’t wait for us to get back there again in the Spring!”
The summer tour will again showcase Queen + Adam Lambert’s spectacular new stage production conceived around the 40th anniversary of Queen’s News of the World album which has consistently drawn across-the-board rave reviews.
Since first sharing the stage in May 2009, Queen + Adam Lambert have proved to be a hugely successful global partnership, having now played more than 130 shows in every corner of the world.
Later this week Queen + Adam Lambert begin a sold out arenas tour in Australia and New Zealand, beginning in Auckland with two Spark Arena shows on February 17 and 18, and ending up at Perth Arena on March 6.
