Asteroid Day 30 June

Dear Asteroid Day Supporter!

It’s the day we’ve been waiting for: Asteroid Day! There are lots of exciting things happening for our global inaugural launch! We have over 89 events scheduled in 33 countries around the world and this does not count all the events that Discovery Channel is hosting.

First, remember our number one goal for Asteroid Day is to educate the public about asteroids. You can find a lot of really good videos to watch here. Be sure to scroll down the page to see the full selection. There is a video that talks about the frequency of impacts that is available in English, Cantonese and Spanish. Also, this is where we will post video statements from Brian May video content for Asteroid Day. And we love what our friends in Korea have done with the 100X videos.

Our secondary goal is to encourage the public to sign the 100X Declaration. Please encourage your family and friends and online communities to sign the 100X Declaration.

If you want to join live streams for San Francisco, Slooh and others you can find them here.

And something really exciting! Our official Asteroid Day anthem has been released! Queen’s We Will Rock You is now the Asteroid Day official anthem! Please watch and share the video… we’re thrilled to have this classic song to be the anthem of this global movement.

We Will Rock You (Asteroid Day version)

Asteroid Day is a global awareness movement to protect Earth against asteroid impacts. The original inspiration for this campaign came from Grigorij Richters’ asteroid impact disaster film 51 Degrees North – all profits from which he has now dedicated to the cause of Asteroid Day world-wide. Dr. Brian May is a key supporter and delivered a slight update of the original mix, specifically for the Asteroid Day launch. Learn more about Asteroid Day, here:

Asteroid Day and the world attention which the 100X Declaration has received would not have been possible without your support. Thanks to you, we are educating the public and building awareness about the need for accelerated asteroid discovery.

Wishing you a fantastic 1st ever Global Asteroid Day and please join us online or in person at an Asteroid Day event! Grigorij Richters Asteroid Day Foundation, Founder
