AND NOW – MAY’S WOOD – SEPTEMBER 2022
May’s Wood is now a haven and forever home for wildlife and people, whilst helping to protect our planet.
Planted with many species of native trees and shrubs, including Oak, Birch, Field Maple, Hazel, Elder,Willow, Crab Apple, Hawthorn, Sycamore, Alder, Whitebeam, Cherry, Yew, Guelder Rose, Dogwood, Spindle (to name a few) there are also natural scrub areas and wildflower meadows to allow insects to thrive, which has in turn attracted more bird species and small mammals.
The ‘queen’ of the wood at the moment – the lovely Guelder Rose
