We have had many enquiries about where to find original Diableries, and “what are the ones we are still looking for ?”

Well, here are links to some Diableries being sold right now on the Internet (thanks Sandra Naessens).

You can see that, although these are all in quite good condition, there is a massive difference between the quality of the images and what you’ll find in the restored images in the Diableries book. Nevertheless, these are 150-year-old originals, and they bring special magic with them. Holding them up to the light will be a great experience.

WHAT SERIES DO THESE BELONG TO ? Well, from now on, it should be easy for anyone to find out.

There is an index of titles in the back of our DIABLERIES book. So, in cases like this, if there is a title visible on the card – which almost always there is – you can find the card quite quickly in the book. All these are from the ‘Main Series’ – or Series ‘A’, as we call it – collected and published by Block as a series of 72 views from about 1961 to 1900. Now that you know how to Free-view, you can enjoy all these views in glorious 3-D right now. Even better, use your OWL on the computer screen. All the views in the ‘A’ Series are seriously well crafted.

The cards we are missing, and still searching for, are not in the ‘A’ Series, but published much later on.

One, we think, is ‘Le Rêve’, and the other is ‘Au Pays de Satan’. You can see them in the galleries of the ‘E.H.’ Series (number 10) and ‘F’ Series (number 12) in the book, shown as Question Marks. Alternatively find them on the relevant page in the Diableries section on LondonStereo.com (although some of that is still under construction). The two missing views might be the other way round ! But it’s hard to distinguish these later series anyway. After six years pondering, we think we have got it all in the right order, but it’s still not 100 per cent certain. That was a difficult part of the road to publishing which we don’t usually mention !

Well, please send us news of the missing cards whenever you find them ! OK ?

Needless to say, there will be a handsome reward !! Enjoy the chase !
