I’m hearing that the red/orange colour of the moon tonight is due to smoke particles in the atmosphere – which have been blown from forest fires in the USA. 💫
The Moon rose like a ripe orange tonight – and I only had my iPhone with me to attempt what we used to call a snap. Actually I was surprised to get anything useable at all, judging by my past efforts, but iPhone cameras are definitely improving. If only there were a way to just lock off the focus at infinity, night time photography on iPhones would be radically improved. IS there a way of doing that ? Did I miss something ?
Well, for now I’m happy with my slightly blurry slightly off-full orange !
