On This Day in Queen History – 18 August

In 1979 – Queen played Ludwigsparkstadion, Saarbrücken, Germany, Roger Taylor sporting green hair, after a botched dye job, described as ‘the’ drumming parrot’ by Peter Hince in his book, Queen Unseen: My Life with the Greatest Rock Band of the 20th Century  – the show pretty much ‘doomed from the start, the crew had missed flight, busy ‘perusing the wares in Dr Muller’s sex shop at Frankfurt airport’.

In 2005 – Brian commented  ON SOAPBOX on We Will Rock You becoming the longest running show at the Dominion the previous evening – on being snowed under – and overtaking The Beatles in UK Charts.
In 2009 – The 1995 track “Nobody Knew (Black White House)”, Brian May with Carmine Appice’s Guitar Zeus” single, appeared again on a Guitar Zeus24-track Double Disc “Conquering Heroes” released 18 August.
