On This Day in Queen History – 30 September

In 1980 – Queen played Madison Square Garden, New York, New York, USA.
In 1984 – Queen played Stadthalle, Vienna, Austria.
In 1994 – Roger Taylor played Club Quatro, Nagoya, Japan.
In 1998 – The Brian May Band played Stodola, Warsaw, Poland. Brian was having severe problems with the Red Special, so part of the set played by Spike Edney and Jamie Moses (who sang a great version of Hendrix’s ‘Hoochie Koochie Man’).

In 2002 – The demolition of the Wembley Stadium began for the new Wembley 90,000 seater stadium. Accelerated filming of the demolition was released as a bonus on Live At Wembley Stadium DVD.

In 2005 – Queen + Paul Rodgers Silver award for “Return Of The Champions” UK sales.
In 2005 – Toshiba EMI released Jewels (2-CD set) and Jewels II to coincide with 2005 Queen + Paul Rodgers Japan Tour.

In 2013 – Brian May and Kerry Ellis held a meeting on a new project for the following year.
In 2014 – The video “One Night In Hell – Teaser 1” by Brian May released. “One Night In Hell” was based on the book “Diableries: Stereoscopic Adventures In Hell” by Brian May, Denis Pellerin and Paula Fleming.

In 2015 – Queen + Adam Lambert final concert of “Don’t Stop Them Now” South American Tour, National Stadium, Pista Atletica, Santiago de Chile, Chile. The band and tour crew celebrated with a tour wrap party at Hotel Grand Hyatt Santiago.
