This September 30, in the Athletic Track of the National Stadium, one of the most important bands in world music history, Queen, fronted by legend-in-the-making Adam Lambert, will return to our country after selling out ticket in shows across the world. Chile will be no exception and Chilean Queen fans will surely enjoy a show not to be missed.
This will be Queen’s second time in Chile. The band made a memorable show in our country in 2008 featuring Paul Rodgers in San Carlos de Apoquindo Stadium. This time, Queen + Adam Lambert will perform for Chilean fans in the Athletic Track of the National Stadium.

Before appearing in Chile, Queen + Adam Lambert will be headlining the opening night, September 18, of Rock in Rio, which will celebrate Queen back at the City of Rock 30 years after appearing at the inaugural event, January 11, 1985. Such is the excitement of fans in South America that the tickets for this event sold out in less than three hours after going on sale.
The success of the combination of Queen + Adam Lambert is confirmed after 67 completely sold out arena shows across North America, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, and with three shows scheduled in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Porto Alegre) the iconic band Queen + Adam Lambert return to Chile, as part of their “Don’t Stop Them Now – Queen + Adam Lambert ” tour of South America.
Queen’s drummer Roger Taylor said: “How great to be coming back to South America to rock you even harder than before.”
And singer Adam Lambert added: “I’m so excited to be joining Queen for these dates! This will be a triumphant return for them, and my FIRST time in South America!”
Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert first shared the stage during American Idol in May 2009 for a performance of “We Are The Champions”. They teamed up again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast, Ireland for an electrifying eight-minute finale of “The Show Must Go On”, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions” and in the summer of 2012, Lambert performed a series of shows with Queen across Europe as well as dates in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. They also performed three sold-out shows at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
Teaming again in September 2013, Queen + Adam Lambert received glowing reviews for their performance together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, triggering a conversation between Adam, Roger and Brian to take the show on the road. Rolling Stone said, “Lambert astounded the audience on songs like ‘We Will Rock You’ and the closing ‘We Are The Champions’ and ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’. It was the most anticipated act of the night.” Billboard claimed, “…Queen effectively stole the show, with timeless songs that music fans of all genres can sing along to” and the Hollywood Reporter exclaimed, “Adam Lambert, Queen bring down the iHeart house. With the perfect mix of rock attitude mixed with style, theatricality, sex appeal and impressive vocal gymnastics, [Lambert] took the band’s music to new heights.”
“Let’s ROCK those beautiful arenas JUST ONE MORE TIME!” said Brian May when just months later, in March 2014, Queen + Adam announced a North American tour for the summer of 2014. After announcing an initial 19 dates, five more were hastily added. Not only did all 24 dates sell out almost overnight but by the end of summer touring period Queen + Adam Lambert were awarded Band of the Year at the 10th annual Classic Rock Roll of Honour awards as voted by readers of the magazine. Brian May and Adam Lambert were on hand to collect the award in Los Angeles on 4 November, 2014. More recently, Queen + Adam Lambert were voted Best Live Band of the Year in Ultimate Classic Rock’s year round up reader’s poll.
Queen + Adam Lambert topped off 2014 by performing to an audience of over 12 million TV viewers when they were especially selected to perform live for UK BBC Television’s New Year’s Eve spectacular Queen + Adam Lambert Rock Big Ben. In the subsequent 24 hours ‘Adam Lambert’ was the top of the trending searches on Google in the UK with more than 500,000 searches for his name. Queen’s latest album Forever leapt back up the charts and the band’s Greatest Hits album returned to the Top 40 album chart.
Entering the New Year, Q + AL kicked of 2015 in almighty fashion with 26 sold-out concerts in 10 countries throughout the UK and Europe taking their critically acclaimed show to France, Austria, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Poland bringing their world tour which began in the US in June 2014 almost to a complete circle.
Now Queen + Adam Lambert head for South America with the band’s biggest show yet. “I’m completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon,” says Lambert. “Sharing the stage with Brian and Roger for a full set is so beautifully surreal. I’m honored to be able to pay my respects to Freddie’s memory; he’s a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. Pepper by close on a million copies, pointing to the astonishing fact that at least one in three households in the UK now own a copy of the band’s original Greatest Hits collection. Originally released in October 1981, the Greatest Hits album also achieved the record of spending over 1,422 weeks on the British album chart.

Adam Lambert’s stunning performances on the eighth season of American Idol are still widely regarded as some of the most riveting moments in the show’s history. His debut album For Your Entertainment earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. His second album, Trespassing, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. The subsequent tour took Lambert from Australia to South Africa, throughout Asia and Eastern Europe and culminated in a sold-out arena show in Helsinki, Finland. In 2013, Adam appeared as a guest star on the hit TV series, GLEE.
