SYLVIA JOST-ZEHNDER R.I.P.

Sylvia Jost

With thanks to long-time OIQFC and QFC – Germany, member, Markus Wanner of Switzerland, who has kindly sent the following, regrettably sad news, to share with other Queen fans, particularly those who knew Sylvia Jost:

“With great saddness I have to let you know, also in the name of her family, about the passing of Sylvia Jost-Zehnder after short illness.

Sylvia lived in Chur in the Canton Grison in the Swiss Mountains in Switzerland and was a very loyal, generous and humble fan. It was always very important to her – if she was able to met a band member in person – that they feel comfortable. “Respect, privacy and distance” was always part of her pleasant personality. She loved to write letters (often with a small gift) with her own thoughts to a current situation of a band member as example and her favourite band member was Brian [May] with his brilliant Red Special guitar sound; she loved him and his music more than anything and was very interested in his many activities next to his amazing music career.

Sylvia was my beloved QUEEN companion for almost 20 years. If QUEEN or Brian were here in Switzerland, we attended together as Swiss team to their concerts and we were able to share so many beautiful experiences and unexpected adventures together. In her early years Sylvia was part of some QUEEN Conventions in the UK and was able to met QUEEN fans all over the world there. Unfortunately, I don’t know their names, but it was important tor her family to let the QUEEN community know about Sylvia’s passing as well.

I’m very sad and feel empty at the moment, it’s very hard to believe and accept it, but as we all know, it’s the circle of life.

Unfortunately, this is my very last act as friend, which I’m able to do for you, Sylvia, but I hope and I’m sure you would be proud of to read and see this on Brian’s offical website!

We will miss you forever and THANK YOU for everything!

Rest in Peace

Markus”
