The Rock & Ribbon charity campaign proved to be a major success at the UK Lingerie Awards 2013 last night as celebrities and lingerie professionals placed bids for Brian May’s guitar.
Danny Jones from McFly placed a generous bid at the event, while one unknown bidder offered Elle Liberachi, the face of the campaign, £20,000 to take the instrument home with them there and then.
“The man was told he had to go through the Rock and Ribbon website to place his bid, so we shall wait and see,” said Michael Green, head of production at One Mega Mangement, the organiser behind the campaign.
“We had three very interested guitar collectors’ who will be bidding towards the end of the auction,” he added.
The guitar, signed and donated by Brian May was displayed all night at the UK Lingerie Awards, which took place at the Freemason’s Hall.
iPads were provided for guests to make their bids, with 100% of the proceeds going to the charity Breast Cancer Campaign.
Bidding will continue via an online auction at rockandribbon.org for two weeks to Decemeber 17th, with the winner and final bid total announced online on December 18th at lingerieinsight.com .
