Watford’s MP is calling for local musicians and film makers to enter a Parliamentary competition called Rock the House and Film the House. This year Richard Harrington is working alongside Warner Brothers, who will help judge the film entries, and West Herts College who are helping judge the rock entries.

Founded by Intellectual Property Advisor to the Prime Minister, Mike Weatherley MP, the competitions are sponsored by industry figures and supported by celebrity patrons including Brian May and Mark Hoppus from Blink 182.

Both competitions offer the opportunity for people in Watford to win prizes ranging from festival slots, studio time, equipment, and the opportunity to have their work premiered in London’s West End.

Richard Harrington MP said: “This is a great way to get your work noticed and it should be great fun too. Watford is at the very forefront of the music and film industries in the UK so I’m sure everyone will be watching to see what we come up with.

“This year I’m really looking forward to working with Warner Brothers and West Herts College to select the winners, who will hopefully make it through to the final.”

Entries are open until the end of March. For more information, go to www.rockthehouseHOC.com/apply and www.filmthehouse.com/apply.html.
