CambridgeFilm Festival runs from 3 – 13 September 2015

3-D Special Event with Brian May – 4 August.

LIGHT: 3D Rarities + One Night in Hell (U) – TICKETS

We are excited to welcome Dr Brian May to the Cambridge Film Festival for what promises to be an extraordinary 3-D evening

Perhaps one of the guitarist’s lesser known passions is stereoscopic photography. Dr Brian May will be hosting a signing session of the book he has published with Mr Denis Pellerin on the subject, as well as presenting the two films included in the event:

ONE NIGHT IN HELL is a devilish and spectacular animation short. It follows the journey of a skeleton’s descent into a stereoscopic Hell, where he plays a demonic rendition of We Will Rock You combined with Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture!

The film features exclusive new music from Brian May and the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.

The event also includes a screening of a UK premiere of 3-D RARITIES, an amazing restoration of 3-D film archives. The collection of eye-popping, ultra-rare and long-lost movies has been over 30 years in the making. Most of the shorts have not been available for many years.

Included are Kelley’s Plasticon Pictures, the earliest surviving 3-D demonstration film from 1922; and Doom Town, a controversial anti-atomic testing film mysteriously pulled from theatrical release in 1953.
