Guitarist May befriended the singer when they were both working on tracks at the same London studio
X Factor hopeful Talia Dean was bailed out by Queen legend Brian May when she struggled to pay off her music debts. Guitarist May befriended the singer when they were both working on tracks at the same London studio, Sunday People reports.
Talia, who got through to the second stage of boot camp tonight, was recording with her band Talia and the Lips in 2015 but couldn’t pay the studio fees. She confessed her struggles to the chart-topper – who wrote her a cheque to clear the debt, thought to be hundreds of pounds.
A source said: “Brian really took Talia under his wing. He would offer her advice about the music industry. Talia couldn’t believe a superstar like him was giving her some much of his time. When she told him she couldn’t pay the studio fees she could not believe it when he wrote a cheque to clear the debt. She owes a lot to Brian.” Talia Dean appearing on X Factor (Image: ITV) Brian is still supporting Talia, 32 – even posting about the singer’s progress on his blog. Mum-of-one Talia, from west London, says fate that got her to the show after she crossed paths with Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne in her role as a VIP concierge meet and greet at Heathrow Airport. She said: “I asked if she would recommend me doing X Factor to which Nicole said ‘first thing first, can you sing?’ I said yes I promise I can, she said ‘You go for it girl’.”
