One of my favourite views in the world.
The Transamerica Pyramid to me is a beautiful piece of architecture. I find it sad that so many of our cities – especially London – are now becoming obliterated by random ugliness. San Francisco to me is like a fledgling Rome – it manages to make its present harmonise with its illustrious history. In the background the Bay Bridge – another modern marvel.
And here is the Modern Marvel without whom, for sure, Queen would not be out here delivering at the top level. ADAM LAMBERT is only now beginning to be recognised by the greater public as the true phenomenon that he is. Gifted with a voice in a billion, for himself he is a passionate and unyielding perfectionist. Gifted to us, he is the reason that we are still alive as a functioning rock band. And still able to take on new challenges. Plus … he’s nice. That’s a big deal when you’re a touring family. Freddie would approve, big time.

We DID bicycle over the Golden Gate Bridge on our day off. In the cold wind and mist ! And I DID wear my helmet ! But it was all worth it to enjoy Sausalito in the sunshine, and revisit one of my favourite restaurants in the world – The Spinnaker on the waterfront – a beautiful spot to reflect on the fact that life isn’t all bad.
