Ha ! No – we’re not trying to be astronauts ! This is the requisite gear for working in the laboratories of APHA, here at Aberystwyth University.  This is one of the highest level research centres in the world for disease control.

This man is Prof Glyn Hewinson, an acknowledged leader in the fight, behind the scenes, against the bovine TB pathogen – known as M.Bovid – the “M” standing for Mycobacterium – and extraordinarily wily organism which so far has outwitted mankind. It was Glyn who invited me here today to speak to an audience of mostly very unhappy Welsh Farmers. I’m here to try to help – armed with the experience of 10 years battling the disease at Gatcombe Farm in Devon. Our views are VERY different from those of the Powers That Be In farming.

Wish me luck. I believe we have the solution everyone needs. It’s a long way from guitar playing !!!

Cheers – Bri
