Well … it’s crude and I’m sire we’ll be able to do much better soon … but it IS a real stereo picture of the newly encountered asteroid DINKINESH. A DOUBLE !!!

DINKINESH – the newly discovered (as of today!) binary asteroid – viewed in parallel stereo and – SWIPE – cross eyed stereo. This is a very rough and ready assembly – and you can see that the resolution is much better on one side than the other. But our brains are quite forgiving when presented with stereo … we can ‘see through’ the lack of resolution for one eye. Try it !!
Hopefully we’ll get an opportunity for a really high quality stereo soon.
