On This Day in Queen History – 27 March

In 1974 – Queen II album reached No 7 UK Top 10, the first time for Queen in Top 10. 
In 1975 – Brian May went to see Led Zeppelin, Forum, Los Angeles, USA. 
In 1992 – Music artists assembled to start a week of rehearsals for the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, Bray Studios, Berkshire.

In 1999 – Roger Taylor played Liverpool L2, Liverpool, UK. 
In 2002 – Brian and Roger received 2002 Capital FM Award for Outstanding Contribution To Music, Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, UK, where Capital FM radio officially also launched their annual “Help A London Child 2002” appeal. Queen also helped A London Child.

Brian was asked what it was like to be picking up an Outstanding Contribution award?
BRIAN MAY: “It still makes you nervous, but it’s a great privilege to be a part of life as it goes on today in the music business – we don’t take it for granted.”

In 2006 – Queen + Paul Rodgers played the Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.
In 2007 – Brian May, Sir Patrick Moore and Chris Lintott nominated for the Arthur Clarke awards. 
In 2011 – “Songs For Japan” album ft Queen’s ‘Teo Torriatte’ released as download in iTunes Stores worldwide and Amazon.
