VH1L Queen think Lambert better fit than Rodgers

VH1 CLASSIC ROCK RADIO REPORT

This week, Queen will kick off a 24-date North American tour with Adam Lambert. It’s not the first time the group has hit the road with a singer other than the late Freddie Mercury. In 2008, they went out with Paul Rodgers, but in a new interview, Roger Taylor and Brian May say Adam is a better fit for the group. Roger told the Toronto Sun, “Paul has one of the greatest rock voice but it’s more blues… I would say, with all due respect to Paul, that Adam is more suited to a lot of our material.” Roger added that “Adam is more naturally at home with us” while Brian said, “He has many, many colors so we can explore some of those strange excursions that Queen likes to.” See what he means by catching the band live.

RELATED AUDIO: This isn’t news to Paul, who, when telling us about getting together with the band, explained that they were well aware of his style.
