WE WILL ROCK YOU, the original QUEEN musical featuring 21 of the legendary band’s greatest hits, will be rocking Vienna from 20th January until 1st March 2015! After seven years, the worldwide smash-hit finally returns to the city, where it has already thrilled audiences during its six month sold out run during which it played to over 250.000 people.
A second highlight is now presented to all QUEEN fans in the modern shopping centre WIEN MITTE The Mall: “ONE VISION – THE MAGIC OF QUEEN”. The unique exhibition brings together around 60 exhibits documenting the vision and development of this extraordinary band. The impressive photographs, some of which have never been seen before, come from various private collections, the QUEEN archive, and several music publishers, and were curated and exclusively made available by legendary QUEEN manager Jim Beach for this spectacular exhibition.
The photographs in the exhibition are by renowned photographers Terry O’Neill, Neal Preston, Peter Hince, Lord Snowdon, Denis O’Regan, George Hurrell, Simon Fowler, David Bailey, Richard Young, Jill Furmanovsky and Arthur Edwards, who all accompanied the band at different stages of its career and whose cameras captured crucial moments in the band´s history, preserving them for all eternity.
Formed at the beginning of the 70s, the band – consisting of guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor, bassist John Deacon and lead singer Freddie Mercury – developed an idiosyncratic, progressive style that was to become an influential and unmistakable sound in the history of rock music. Their concerts were glamorous and spectacular, their costumes extravagant, their lighting and set grandiose and gigantic.
This extravagant and bombastic sound makes WE WILL ROCK YOU a veritable rock spectacular! With over 16 million spectators worldwide, WE WILL ROCK YOU is one of the most successful musicals of all time and is performed from 15th January until 1st March 2015 at the “Stadthalle F” in Vienna.
