The impressive list of performers at this year’s 91st Academy Awards just keeps getting better. It’s been revealed now that Queen will be rocking out at the Oscars on Sunday with Adam Lambert on vocals. The Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody is nominated for five Academy Awards including best picture.

And the movie’s star Rami Malek is up for best actor for his portrayal of the late singing icon. ‘Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?’ came a tweet from the Academy on Monday, quoting lyrics from Queen’s hit Bohemian Rhapsody as it announced the news:

‘We welcome @QueenWillRock and @adamlambert to this year’s #Oscars!’ they wrote.

The band have been performing under the name Queen + Adam Lambert including two of the four original members, Brian May on guitar and Roger Taylor on drums.

American Idol alum Lambert has been singing with the band since 2011 and the group completed a successful world tour between 2014 to 2018.

The 37-year-old admitted he was initially intimidated at the prospect of filling Freddie’s shoes. He told PEOPLE in September: ‘Not only did I have to make sure my voice held up and I know all the words… but it was also the perception of fans; I definitely had some concerns. This is not my music that I wrote: This is me, as a guest, with one of the greatest rock bands of all time, singing the songs that one of the greatest rock singers of all time brought to life.’ The Indiana born entertainer added, ‘Freddie is irreplaceable.’
