Brian May signed photo
Olympics Closing Ceremony August 12th 2012

Writes Nigel: “Signed and donated, by the great man himself, for me to auction for charity – this is a beautiful signed photograph of legendary rock guitarist, Brian May. Taken as he played live at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games, August 12th 2012.

This photograph was donated by Brian shortly after he returned from his hugely successful tour with Queen + Adam Lambert…fitting it in between studio work with Kerry Ellis, launching the Common Decency website, fighting for the protection of animals, opening We Will Rock You in Germany… and flying over the Faroes to view the solar eclipse. Does this man ever sleep…?

Brian kindly donated this photograph, to me, to help raise money for Parkinson’s UK.

Parkinson’s UK is a charity close to my heart. My father, Henry (pictured) was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease more than 12 years ago. A local sporting hero. A footballer. A cricketer. Umpire. Referee. He even ‘reffed’ the legendary George Best… (pictured)

But life has changed, for my dad… Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a progressive, neurodegenerative disease that belongs to the group of conditions called motor system disorders. PD cannot yet be cured and sufferers get worse over time as the normal bodily functions, including breathing, balance, movement, and heart function worsen.
