12 November 2015 Brian May believes signing up to headline the Isle of Wight Festival next year will ”open doors” for his group Queen and Adam Lambert. The 68-year-old guitarist will close the event with his group on June 12 next year and admits that whilst they have never done a festival together before, they are ready to put on a ”great show”.
Speaking at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards, which he attended with his wife Anita Dobson, he told BANG Showbiz: ”I’m so excited to be playing it. The Isle of Wight festival to us is of great resonance because of who played there – it’s The Who, it’s Jimi Hendrix, it’s Bob Dylan. To be part of that is great, to be asked is fantastic and we just need to make sure we put on a great show. We’ve been asked to play a lot of festivals and we haven’t done it, I guess because we’ve always wanted control over what we do. But maybe this has opened the door.”
However, Brian is a little worried how the band will cram all of their hits into the set.
He added: ”The problem with Isle of Wight is how do we get all the hits in. We shall see. It’s a very exciting prospect for us because we’ve never done a festival before.”

Brian May loves watches Anita Dobson on Loose Women
12 November 2015
Brian May is a fan of ‘Loose Women’ and always tries to watch his wife Anita Dobson when she is on the panel and gives her ”notes” ahead of her appearances on the daytime chat show. The Queen guitarist’s spouse is a regular on the daytime talk show and Brian always makes an effort to support her and tune in to the ITV programme.
Brian, 68, insists he doesn’t care if Anita, 66, gives away embarrassing details of their home life together and actually gives her ”notes” to help her during the topic discussions.
Speaking at the Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards in London on Wednesday night (12.11.15), he told BANG Showbiz: ”I always try to see her on it, I give her notes for it. She can do what she wants, she’s the boss really.”
Brian will be grilled face-to-face by his wife – who famous played Angie Watts in ‘EastEnders’ – and the other loose ladies when he appears as a guest on the show this week. [Thursday 12 November]
The ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ rocker insists he will be ready for anything Anita and the gang throw at him. He said: ”I will be on it this week, so I will be there first hand to make sure they do it right. We’re quite careful that we’re not on it as a couple, she’s on the panel and I’m a guest.”
Among the tales Anita has told about her and Brian’s life together include their garden shed being overrun by stray cats stopping them from using it.
