On This Day in Queen History – 5 February

In 1966 – 1984 played the Rowing Club, Shepperton, UK.
In 1966 – The Opposition played the Village Institute, Countesthorpe, UK.
In 1973 – Queen with producer Bernie Andrews and engineer John Etchells recorded “My Fairy King”, “Keep Yourself Alive”, “Doing All Right” and “Liar”, their first session at BBC Langham One Studios.
In 1975 – Queen played the Agora, Columbus, Ohio, USA. Support bands: Kansas, Mahogany Rush and Styx.
In 1976 – Queen played the first of 3 shows at the Beacon Theater, New York, New York, USA. Support band was Cate Brothers.
In 1977 – Queen played Madison Square Garden, New York, New York, USA. Brian flew his parents out for concert and they stayed at the Plaza Hotel. Electra Record organised special after show party.

In 1991 – Innuendo released USA on CD and cassette.
In 2000 – Brian phone interview with Utada Hikaru on Japanese radio. TRANSCRIPT HERE.
In 2007 – We Will Rock You Musical opened in South Korea at the, at Seongnam Performing Arts Centre (Opera House).
In 2011 – Brian, Roger and the We Will Rock You cast presented the We Will Rock You postage stamps, part of “Musicals” Collection.

In 2012 – The Italian TV station TG1 reported on the “SanRemo Music Festival” and showed an interview with Brian May, Kerry Ellis and Irene Fornaciari.
In 2013 – The video game “Rock Band 3” with released with “Death On Two Legs”, for the Xbox 360, Wii and PS3.
In 2013 – Brian May collaborated with co-author Denis Pellerin and designer Jamie Symonds on the layout of the new “Diableries” book.
In 2013 – The film “Hungarian Rhapsody – Queen Live In Budapest” shown in Italian cinemas.
In 2013 – “Queen Of The Road”: Over 75% of the British car drivers listening to Queen on their journeys and thus crowned Queen as No. 1 of “The Drivers’ UK Top 10”. “Don’t Stop Me Now” and “Bohemian Rhapsody” among the favourite tracks for UK car drivers.
In 2014 – Brian May was photographed in a photo studio in Shoreditch for a life-size 3-D Lenticular Display.

In 2014 – Brian May announced his participation in “Astrofest 2014” for 8 February 2014, Kensington Conference and Event Center, London, where, together with Garik Israelian, he would present the “Starmus Festival 2014” in Tenerife and a book with Chris Lintott.
In 2015 – Queen + Adam Lambert live at the O2 World, Hamburg, Germany.

In 2016 – The “European Astrofest 2016” held at Kensington Conference & Events Center, London. Dr Brian May gave a lecture on “A History of Astro Stereo Photography” with 3-D projection support and also signed copies of his books and stereocards.  READ MORE HERE

In 2016 – A new version of “One Voice” featured in American documentary “A Dog Named Gucci” as track in closing credits. Brian May re-recorded “One Voice” with Norah Jones, Aimee Mann and Bangles singer Susanna Hoffs. The single would later be released on “Record Store Day 2016” 16.04.2016. A digital version of the song available for pre-order on iTunes.
In 2020 – Queen + Adam Lambert played Westpac Stadium, Wellington, New Zealand.
