Queen wins Japan Gold Disc Award

 Queen have won this year’s Japan Gold Disc Award. The Recording Industry Association of Japan gives the award to artists for their contributions to the development of the music industry.

Queen won Artist of the Year in the western music category for selling more CDs, videos and Internet downloads than any other artists last year. It is the second time in 14 years that Queen has won the award.

The band sold 505,824 albums and 189,729 downloads in Japan last year.

Roger Taylor said, “Thank you so much for your fantastic support. I hope we have given you some happiness, pleasure, joy and maybe quiet sometimes.”

 Brian added, “I love you and see you again soon.”
