3-D CON 2020

NEWS from London Stereoscopic Company:

Even though some restrictions have been lifted in several countries – at least temporarily – we are not yet safe from the coronavirus and some events can still only happen virtually.

The LSC will consequently start giving virtual 3-D talks from August onwards. The first two will occur during the 3D Convention organised by the National Stereoscopic Association.

This year’s meeting should have taken place at Tacoma, Washington State, but was cancelled and then turned into a virtual event that will happen from 13 to 16 August.

You can register online at their website (www.3d-con.com) and it will give you the opportunity to attend, from wherever you are, some of the talks, workshops, SIGs (Special Interest Groups), and slideshows, or just have a friendly chat with other stereo enthusiasts in the virtual lounge of the “hotel”.

Unless you want to become a member of the NSA or subscribe to their very interesting bi-monthly magazine Stereo World, registration is free, but it is mandatory. So, don’t waste another second.

See you online very soon !

PS: There will be several ways the images can be viewed in 3D during the Convention (anaglyphs, side-by-side, 3D TV with polarising glasses, etc.) but for the talks using Victorian images the best option is to use your phone and a lorgnette-type stereoscope like the Lite Owl (or even better, our Owl VR Kit).
