So … beginning our day Hunting the Clean Boot … ( I’ll explain as we go along) … here are the ‘foxes’ for the day – gallant souls indeed. Sam and Catherine will be running as the ‘prey’ on this day of Great Clean Hunting Fun. Following them will be a pack of bloodhounds – following their scent. And following them, a group of horse riders. But these are not the red-coated blood-thirsty fox hunters of history. These are Compassionate Riders. Anne and I are proud to support these decent, brave folks. No animals will be hurt today. No blood will be shed. But the riding will be tough and exhilarating. Follow us ! @anneatsaveme

I’m actually appalled that a lot of the people commenting on this post JUST DON’T GET IT. Do you really think I would support a blood hunt ? The whole point of Hunting the Clean Boot is that these riders have turned their back on cruelty – they ride, they pursue, but their quarry is a man or a woman, or in this case today both. There is no abuse of animals – NO BLOOD-SHED. The dogs are NOT foxhounds, trained to be vicious destroyers of foxes, but floppy-eared bloodhounds, who follow human scent with uncanny precision; the most damage they will inflict on any creature is a good licking. This why I am plugging away, trying to get people to understand what is really going on. These Clean Boot hunters are good people, compassionate, caring for their own animals and wild animals too. WE, who care about animals NEED TO SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE – NOT VILIFY THEM. Byron, who you see here on his horse, LOOKS like a fox-hunter – but he gets way more abuse from blood fox-hunters than from you guys ! Why ? Because this kind of hunting is decent, big fun, and LEGAL – so it will hasten the demise of blood sports – because there is now no excuse for getting kicks from killing an animal. Byron is a VERY brave man – and, in standing up for what he believes, he is changing BrItain for the better.

A stirring speech from the Boss – Byron John is the Master of the ENTIRELY NON-BLOOD-SPORT Three Counties Bloodhounds – and all is ready.

The denouement !! Runners safely home – and all is well !

The rest of the ‘family’ catch up. The day’s hunt is done – and no animals harmed, no blood shed. It’s very important for us, as we campaign to put an end to blood sports, to encourage this Clean Boot hunt – surely the decent and humane future of horse-riding sports. Thanks to Byron for entertaining us again this year, for our now traditional trip up into the hills above Swansea. Wanna see the final reward ?!

The final reward ! The view up here is beautiful. After all the excitement, this tranquil panorama looking out over Swansea and the bay takes your breath away. Happy Boxing Day folks !

I rest my case. I only hope the mainstream media start giving these compassionate hunts more space than the the remaining blood hunts – all now posing as ‘Trail Hunts’, during which the hounds ‘accidentally’ kill foxes. Time to tighten up the loopholes in the Hunting Act. There should be no place for blood sports in 2023.

No animals were harmed in the making of this video. That, essentially is what it’s all about. Happy Boxing Day dear friends.
