Tomorrow, Tuesday 30th June, Queen founding member and animal campaigner Brian May, on behalf of the newly-formed Team Fox alliance, will lead a briefing meeting for Conservative MPs in the House of Commons. The meeting is hosted by Andrea Jenkyns, MP. Team Fox is a coalition of animal welfare groups who have united to keep the hunting ban in place: it includes the League Against Cruel Sports, the Born Free Foundation, Network for Animals, A Minority Pastime, Hounds Off, Lush, and May’s own Save Me Trust. Team Fox will underline the need for the Hunting Act of 2004 to be kept in place for the protection of wild animals from abuse, and for the act to be enforced more vigorously, with the hunting of wild mammals with packs of dogs remaining a criminal offence. A recent UK public poll resulted in an 80% vote against the return of fox hunting.
