Unplugged unique joint project of one of the greatest guitarists of all time “prima West End” finally see in Russia.March 16, 2014 the cult musician Brian May of Queen (Brian May) and the star of the musical “We Will Rock You” Kerry Ellis will perform at Crocus City Hall with a concert in the tour “The Candlelight Concerts”.
In the intimate atmosphere of a candlelit audience will hear Queen classics and his own compositions Ellis, stripped down acoustic nterpretation.
Under the virtuoso guitar and vocal accompaniment will be performed by such immortal hits as “Somebody to Love”, “Love of My Life”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, “39”, a song from the album Ellis “Anthems”, as well as your favorite artists the composition of the world’s musical heritage.

“Acoustic versions of great songs really charmed us with their magic,” says Brian May. “They have a kind of purity that allows them to speak clearly. Kerry’s instincts as an interpreter of songs inspired and art arrangements have always been one of my obsessions. We found that almost read each other’s thoughts, talking about the essence of the songs, and try to bring it to our performances. If you have a great song and a great singer, what else is needed? Unless, perhaps, a little guitar.”
Professional collaboration between the two artists has lasted for more than 11 years. Ellis first gained attention in the days of May’s work in the successful West End musical “We Will Rock You”, created by musicians, Queen, based on the band’s songs, where she played a leading role. Since that time, a unique musical collaboration Kelly Ellis and Brian May continued.
The Artists used to work together every window in their schedules, creating new songs and arrangements in the studio and giving live concerts together. They performed at the gala evening of Queen Elizabeth II Royal Variety Show (2008), at the annual event the BBC Proms (2008), on the evening of The Night of 1000 Voices (2010), and also opened on Memorial Day at the Royal Albert Hall (2010).
The first significant result of May and Ellis cooperation became the debut album “Anthems” (“Hymns”), released in 2010. The first tour together as artists in 12 cities in the UK was a resounding success, including two sold-out concerta at London’s famous Royal Albert Hall.
Recently crowned for Kerry victory in the nomination The Best Solo Performance (“Best Performance solo”) from Whatsonstage.com. Ellis and May continued to tour impatiently awaiting their cities in November last year and extended it this year.
Brian May said: “Although life has taken me into so many new areas recently, music is still what energises me – the greatest joy. And Ms Ellis is the most inspiring collaborator – we’re a pretty good band! I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring this show to a wider audience – already working on hardening up the finger ends…”
